3rd May 2015 – Tour de Yorkshire
SILSDEN: And the race has passed through Silsden! Plenty of cheers and excitement between 3.39pm and 3.48pm as all the riders and accompanying motorcyclists whizzed through.
The two leading cyclists were approximately two minutes ahead of the rest.
Most of the cyclists were in two large groups which raced up Bolton Road at 3.43pm and 3.45pm, with smaller groups not too far behind.
Hundreds of spectators present, including youngsters standing on a wall and banging on the top of a bus shelter as the cyclists went past!
Silsden people turn out in force to welcome Tour de Yorkshire riders
HUNDREDS of people turned out in Silsden to give the Tour de Yorkshire riders a rousing reception.
Most people massed on the pavements near the Bell Square junction with Bolton Road, with people of all ages beginning to arrive from late morning, hours before the cyclists were due to arrive.
The area was decked out with bunting and Yorkshire flags, and entertainment included Yorkshire themed games, live music, and barbecues, as well as refreshments in Silsden Methodist Church.
